WHERE ARE THEY NOW? .... LISA PEACE

Ex -Griffin member Lisa Peace is currently filling Victoria Wood's very sensible shoes as Miss Berta in the national tour of the hit musical Acorn Antiques the Musical. Lisa appeared  with us as Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz (1984) and several other musicals and pantomimes. Since then she has appeared in the West End in Starlight Express, Les Miz (currently starring Ben Houghton as Gavroche see below) and by coincidence she also played Sukie opposite Ian McShane in the Witches of Eastwick!  A few years ago Lisa's visited our rehearsals for Return To The Forbidden Planet to coach roller-skating to Ariel the Robot (Ian Stone).

If you want to see Lisa in  Acorn Antiques The Musical she will be appearing at the Milton Keynes Theatre from 28 May - 2 June.

Where Are They Now will be a regular feature on our News Page so if you know of any other former Griffins who are appearing professionally or doing something else of interest please contact the webmaster

BABIES... JUST LIKE BUSES

Just when you thought that there hadn't been any babies for a little while... three come along at once.

Dee and Richard are delighted that Charlotte will be getting a little brother or sister. And sisters Helen Harris and  Sarah Albert have always done things together and now they are both expecting their first babies.

Our very best wishes to all couples involved... there must be something in the water (or was the tap in the middle dressing room that said "Do not drink!")

BREAK A LEG NATALIE

Our best wishes go to Griffin member Natalie Wilson who will be filming her role in the TV drama Coming Down The Mountain this week. The drama has been written by Mark Haddon, author of the award-winning novel The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time. Natalie plays the small part of a girlfriend of the central character, a boy with downs syndrome. The drama will be broadcast on BBC1 prime-time in the autumn.

ENTER LILY MAY HARRIS
The first of our batch of babies arrived safely on Sunday 4th March 2007 in the beautiful form of  Lily May - weighing in at a healthy 7lb 4oz. Proud parents Helen and Mark Harris are justifiably thrilled to bits with their new addition to the family. Lily also made a lovely birthday present for her Auntie (Sarah Albert) who is also expecting (see below). Click on the thumbnails to see more of these beautiful pictures. Congratulations from all your friends at the Griffin Players

SEE WITCHES OF EASTWICK FREE...

...BECOME A STEWARD

The Griffins always need plenty of Front of House volunteers for our shows especially stewards (they're the ones who get to sit in the auditorium and see the show!). The only problem is that all these stewards have to be trained in basic safety procedures and it is always a problem for our FOH co-ordinator to find enough fully trained people. Well now's your chance to help us because the Library Theatre is organising two training sessions on Tuesday 3rd and Wednesday 4th April.

It's free and all you have to do to register is to call Nita Gulliver at the theatre on 01582 547475 or send her an  email.

If you then notify our FOH Co-ordinator you may well be seeing The Witches of Eastwick and many other shows absolutely free!
